Metroid the Movie!


A dream has come true for Metroid fans all across the globe. Our favorite heroine, Samus Aran, is making her way to the silver screen. Variety has revealed that Warren Zide and Craig Perry, who are known for their involvement with teen blockbusters Final Destination and American Pie, are looking for writers and actors for this Metroid movie.

There are a few preliminary details already revealed for this Metroid movie, and they are about the game's story. Similar to that of the Metroid games, the Metroid movie will take place in a once peaceful galaxy, which will soon be set off course with the startling discovery of the Metroid species. A survey crew discovers the Metroids while on a routine mapping expedition of an alien planet (most likely the Metroid home planet SR388), unfortunately for them they soon learn that the Metroid species is a dangerous one, consuming the life energy of their victims and thus multiplying in great numbers. This is where Samus Aran comes in, the Galactic Federation hires her to exterminate these Metroids, but to the surprise of Samus the ones responsible for the death of her parents, the evil Space Pirates, are plotting to breed an unstoppable army of Metroids to rule the galaxy

The movie rights to Metroid, one of the most succesful gaming series from Nintendo, have been sold to two producers from Hollywood.

Making movies from games remains very popular, but after the horrible Mario movie, no producer dared to make a movie with Nintendo characters. Variety believes this will change now, because Zide/Perry Entertainment have bought the rights to make a movie around Metroid.

Zide/Perry Entertainment belongs to Warren Zide and Craig Perry, known from movies like Final Destination and American Pie. Currently they are looking for a writer who will make the script for Metroid The Movie.

Warren Zide and Craig Perry, the guys who brought us "American Pie" and "Final Destination" have acquired the rights to produce a movie based on the Metroid franchise. As you're reading this both Zide and Perry are searching for directors, and some actors and actresses to fill the many roles which will be needed to complete this task, and what a task it is. Will it live up to our expectations? The truth is, nobody knows. On the up side of things Tomb Raider was recently turned into a film and succeeded, Metroid could follow in its footsteps. The down side...well you should be able to figure that out for yourself. Here's what we've got on the story so far, thanks to Variety.com:

"The story is set in a once peaceful galaxy, which has its prosperity shattered by a startling discovery: On a routine mapping expedition of a planet, a survey crew discovers a new airborne life form -- the Metroid. Able to engulf other living beings, feed on their energy, and multiply in great numbers, they prove a terrifying menace. Female bounty hunter Samus Aran is commissioned by the Galactic Federation to eliminate the pests, but she soon discovers that pirates with a stolen Metroid specimen are plotting to breed an build an unstoppable army."

Once we get new information on this film we'll post it here. Keep in mind however, that if they have just started looking for directors and actors it won't be around for quite some time.

por fin va a salir una buena pelicula de un videojuego, no es por desmerecer a las que han salido, pero estás realmente va a tener mucha acción y facil puede pasaer por accion y ficcion, espero que no rebajen a mi querida samus aran.
