Considering Jaffe is probably more concerned with having PS3s in the hands of more consumers than pushing a new drive format, his stance isn't particularly surprising. Blu-ray certainly opens new avenues for developers, but, in the end, more systems would likely end up more important than additional disc space.

Has all the time he's spent developing smaller, indie-like online games changed his perspective? Pretty much. "I want to do games that take 10-13 months; I want to do games that aren't always story-driven, that are more gameplay-driven," he said.
