Shigeru Miyamoto talks about Dolphin.
NG: First off, is dolphin still the name of the project?
SM: Yes. I am of the opinion that Dolphin can be the actual official name of the product, but some people disagree with me.
NG: Is there any possibility that you will make the year 2000 launch date?
SM: Yes, but I think whether or not we can meet the deadline depends on what kind of games materialize.
NG: Has work begun on games yet?
SM: Yes, I am personally involved in a variety of Dolphin projects.
So we can still call it the Dolphin Project, I wonder why everybody thought the name had been scrapped?

Nintendo announced today that it plans to give its first public demonstration of the "Dolphin" next-generation game console and its software in August next year.
Note that August is first time the public will see the Dolphin at Space World. Members of the press and industry analysts will no doubt see the Dolphin sooner. Also finalized specs and technical demos may be released as soon as this December. Will the Dolphin make the previously announced worldwide release date fall 2000? Time will tell.
despues de eso y bla bla mas sale esto...jejeje:

Nintendo has dropped the name DOLPHIN and instead decided to go for Nintendo Next Generation Console (it is not clear yet if this is to be the final released title but it is now the working name)
Nintendo has confirmed that two versions of Dolphin will be available; a "basic" version from Nintendo which won't support DVD movies or audio CDs and a more capable version from Panasonic which will support these features. Nintendo are aiming at a $99 price tag for the "basic" Dolphin, with Panasonic's version expected to be significantly more expensive. Nintendo have not announced if both versions will be available at launch. Both systems will play games in exactly the same way, and both will support FMV and CGI movie playback.
