90 Official Nintendo Magazine UK
Easily the best football game on a Nintendo system. It takes a while to get used to the new controls but once you get your head round them, they become second nature. [Mar 2008, p.58]
90 Games Master UK
Initially bewildering, it makes great use of hte Wii controls. Give it time and you'll love it. [Apr 2008, p.68]
89 NGamer UK
Pro Evo scores a screamer on its Wii debut. Despite iffy defending and no Master League, this is top quality footie action. Champion.

For the first time in a long, long time, we're going crazy for a soccer game on a Nintendo platform.

The less-technically apt Wii version ends up being the game to move the franchise forward.
Y un comentario de uno de los desarrolladores del juego:
“It has all the intricacies of the existing versions, but within a user interface that couldn't be implemented on any other format than the Wii. PES 2008 for Wii isn't just a good football game, it is an ambitious one – and the team's efforts have paid off enormously. It will make fans of any football game rethink the way they play: no longer is just one player controlled, the user orchestrates the entire team. PES is a game that encourages competition, and you only have to watch two mates play to see how it brings the best and worst out of people. The Wii version offers the best online experience to date. Online play is the logical next step to extend the competitive nature of the game and will be vital in the progression of the series.â€
